What is iftaar, and why is it important?

Iftar is a special evening meal enjoyed by Muslims to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Typically taken after sunset, this meal often begins with dates and water. It is a time for family and community, filled with warmth and togetherness, as everyone gathers to share in the blessings of the day.

In 2023 and 2024 abassonline.org distributed iftar to 120 reverts, thanks to generous support of Muslim donors who ensured that these individuals received meals during Ramadan. Over the course of these two years, we utilized a total budget of Ksh. 990,000.00, which is approximately USD 7,615.38. Alhamdulillah. As we move into 2025, the number of reverts has increased to 72 students, and InshaAllah, we aim to provide iftar to all of them this Ramadan.

Rasulullah (s.a.w.) stated that whoever feeds a fasting person will receive the same reward as the one who is fasting.

Abassonline.org is calling upon our Muslim brothers and sisters to unite in mualafatil quluub and supply iftar during this blessed month. Each meal costs Ksh. 300.00, equivalent to USD 2.30.  To cater for 72 reverts, we need a total budget of Ksh. 648,000.00, or USD 4,984.62. Join us in our mission to support and uplift reverts in our community.
